Brit pulls out of marine liability

Re/insurer Brit is reported to be planning to pull out of the marine liability sector. Only last month it became known that Brit had withdrawn from the space market.

The marine liability segment included:

• Protection and Indemnity
• Charterers’ liability
• Pollution
• Port authorities
• Ship repairers’ liability
• Terminal operators’ umbrella liability
• Marine traders
• Class societies
• Maritime employers’ liability

Head of marine is Gary Brice. Andrew Waite is class underwriter for marine and energy liability.
